We are currently seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Pay is determined by the total hours worked during the academic year.

Tier 1 $110.00 per day/$15.71 for the first 20 days or 140 hours worked
Tier 2 $120.00 per day/$17.14 per hour for all days of the year after.

 

MUST HAVE a Missouri Substitute Certificate to be considered.

POSITION SUMMARY (Primary purpose of job)

Substitute teachers are responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning.  They are responsible for implementing substitute plans as written by the teacher.

 

SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE (Supervisory scope, district impact, and budgetary responsibility)

Substitute teachers are responsible for supervising students, implementation of the District curriculum and assessment plan, and utilizing resources accordingly.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Major duties which the position exists to perform)

  1. Provide instruction that cognitively engages all students, increases critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and assess learning to guide instruction. This instruction should be in accordance with the provided substitute plans.
  2. Build and maintains secure relationships with students as well as maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, parents, and patrons.
  3. Maintain accurate records in accordance with timelines including individual student records, classroom records, content area reports, grade level reports, and building/department records.  These records should be consistent with provided substitute plans and building requirements.
  4. Other duties as directed by the supervisor    
  5. Regular and reliable attendance as it alligns to the scope of position. 

OTHER DUTIES (duties which the incumbent can be expected to perform)

  1. Additional duties necessary to supervise students, monitor events or assist in an emergency situation.    

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise students at all times and/or as directed by the supervisor

Supervise events as described above and/or directed by the supervisor

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Minimum educational requirements, licenses, skills, and experience required as well as preferred options)

Bachelor degree or higher preferred

Valid Missouri substitute teaching certification required, multiple teaching certifications preferred
