We are currently seeking a Lunch Monitor for Washington West Elementary. This position is part-time (Hours per day would be 10:30 am - 1:00 pm). The pay rate for this position is $12.00 per hour.

 

POSITION SUMMARY (Primary purpose of job)

Lunch Monitors are responsible for supervising students during the lunch shift.  This includes classes while at lunch in the cafeteria and while at lunch recess.

 

SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE (Supervisory scope, district impact and budgetary responsibility)

This position is directly responsible for student supervision during the lunch shift.  Supervision includes indoor and outdoor supervision and multiple grade levels or class sections depending on the size of the building assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Major duties which the position exists to perform)

  1. Supervise students in the cafeteria, in designated recess areas, and hallways.
  2. Provide various assistance to students based on individual needs.
  3. Report accidents, events, and/or other incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
  4. Maintain regular attendance and confidentiality.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES (duties which the incumbent can be expected to perform)

  1.  Additional duties necessary for special events, or to assist in an emergency situation.    
  2.  Participate in professional development activities and/or training as required or needed for this position.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Student supervisory duties required.  



QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Minimum educational requirements, licenses, skills and experience required as well as preferred options)

 

High School Diploma or higher

Satisfactory completion of Background Checks standard for school volunteers and school employees

Satisfactory completion of required training standard for school employees

Typical school environment including both indoor and outdoor activities during all seasons and various weather conditions. The noise level in this environment is moderate to loud.
